The Next Step

We had a great turnout for the Oly Clinic yesterday afternoon, thanks to everyone who came out.  Now it is time to build on the basics that we covered at the clinic.  The only way to truly improve at anything is to practice, so we have our first Oly Club training session tonight.  Hopefully everyone is ready and will come ready to work.  And just in case you needed some additional motivation.......
  In addition to just being impressed by the weights these guys lift, look for some of the same technique points we covered yesterday.  Do you see elbows "up and in" in the rack position?  Do you see "chest lifted" and "good posture" during the front squat portion of the cleans (with the exception of Shankle's 215 Kilo lift)?  Do you see "lifted shoulders" and good "wrist turn-over" in the snatch?  Chances are you see really good technique in this video, but you can probably also find a fault here and there.  Develop a critical eye for the technique basics, you will become a better lifter and crossfitter, and you will be able to help those around you improve as well.

  1. Great first night at Oly club! It's difficult not knowing my 1RM and basically guessing on things, but I know it'll all change, and quickly! Thanks Cody and Jeff! I'm SO excited for this program!
